Signature Hiring Event – May 20, 2023

The Talent Team is excited to host the YES Prep Signature Hiring Event on Saturday, May 20 from 10am – 2pm at YES Prep West (10535 Harwin Dr., Houston, TX 77036). This event will include a Job Fair and interviews for campus and Home Office positions currently posted for the 23 – 24 school year. Candidates who have not registered by May 15th can still attend and may be offered an on-the-spot interview. This is a great opportunity for prospective YES Prep team members to network and interview!
We ask for all YES Prep staff to share this event within their networks to invite prospective candidates to attend. As a reminder, the Multiply Extraordinary – Referral Campaign will reward employees with $300 per referral hired as a full-time teacher for the 23-24 school year.
Please share the hiring event flyer with your network!
Please visit our job board to apply for open positions, and see the hiring event flyer below:

Dress Code:

As the year comes to a close, we are still holding our Aviator accountable to our handbook, code of conduct, and dress code policy. Please make sure your Aviator comes to school wearing appropriate clothing every day next week (no sweatpants or athletic pants, all clothing should be free of rips and tears, and no slides or crocs). Students out of dress code will call home for a change of clothes and will not participate in culture activities. Field trips require students to meet dress code to attend. Students will be able to wear school appropriate athletic wear the last 3 days of school (May 30, 31, and June 1st) for culture activities we have planned. Thank you for your support!

Safe, Inclusive, Joyful- Student IDs

This year is ending but our objective to ensure we a creating and maintaining a safe inclusive and joyful school does not! Please speak with your Aviator about ensuring they are wearing their ID's and lanyards at all times. All students are checked for IDs and lanyards when they enter the building. Students who forget their IDs are able to get a temporary one at the 300 doors and earn a demerit. Any student who is not wearing an idea anytime after homeroom will earn an automatic detention.

Student Device & ID Return

Families, please be prepared to return your student laptops, chargers and IDs on May 25th and May 26th. Devices should have all stickers or external items removed prior to return. Students who are attending summer programming will keep their devices until the end of June.

Summer Accelerated Learning- As we prepare to kick off Summer 2023, 9th graders who were selected will be required to attend our YES Prep Hobby Summer Accelerated Learning Program. This program begins Monday, June 5th, 2023 and runs through Friday, June 23, 2023 (no programming on June 19th, 2023 for Juneteenth Observance). The full program runs from 8:30a to 3:30p daily and transportation will be provided. For any additional information regarding summer school, please reach out to Ms. Flores at Vanessa.flores@yesprep.org

If you submitted an application for a new student for the 23-24 school year, you should have received communication regarding the status of your application by now.

If you receive a seat, you will have until Friday March 10th to accept or decline the offer. If you did not receive a seat, your application will be put on the waitlist until a seat becomes available.
If you have any questions, please email Our Registrar Ms. Johnson at kaylan.johnsonsennet@yesprep.org
