Family Surveys: Your Voice Matters!

To ensure we continue to provide high-quality, rigorous learning experiences that meet the needs of your children and prepare them for college and career, we need your input.

We have once again partnered with Panorama Education to conduct a series of surveys over the course of the 2021-2022 school year to help us make our classrooms, schools and district the best they can be.

Elementary families: You will be asked to complete two (2) surveys. The first is the Family-School Relationships Survey, which will allow you to share your experiences with your child’s school and your experience at YES Prep. The second survey is the Pre-K-2 grade Teacher Pathway Survey, which allows families to share their child’s experience with their specific classroom teacher. If your child is in third grade, they will complete this survey in class.

Secondary families: You will be asked to complete the Family-School Relationships Survey. All students in grades 6-12 will complete the Teacher Pathway Survey in class on Dec. 3.

On Nov. 29, be sure to check your email for your unique survey link and access code. You can complete the surveys online before Dec. 22, 2021, using a computer, tablet or smartphone. If you do not receive an email, please contact your school. We thank you in advance for your feedback

Basket Ball Team:

Congratulations to the students who made the basketball team! We will be able to have a limited number of fans at each game. Our first home scrimmage for our girls team will be on Wednesday, December 8th at 5pm. Be on the lookout for more information on how to reserve a ticket (students), or procedures for visiting our games safely!

Masks for Staff and Students

Given the continued rise in confirmed cases, it is now our expectation that all students and staff wear masks. When masks are worn consistently and correctly, they not only protect you but others as well. In general, people do not need to wear masks when outdoors. People should wear a mask in crowded outdoor settings or during activities that involve sustained close contact with other people or if they or someone in their household is immunocompromised.

  Exception(s):

  •  A student who cannot wear a mask, or cannot safely wear a mask, because of a disability as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) (42 U.S.C. 12101 et seq.). Please reach out to our Special Populations team if you require assistance.
  • A student is not expected to wear a mask while eating or drinking but should maintain physical distance as possible. The mask should be stored in a safe, clean location and should be worn immediately thereafter.

Message from the Clinics Office:

We ask that you, as always, watch for symptoms of COVID-19.

Any of the following symptoms indicate a possible COVID-19 infection:

  • Temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher when taken by mouth;
  • Sore throat;
  • New uncontrolled cough that causes difficulty breathing (or, for students with a chronic allergic/asthmatic cough, a change in their cough from baseline);
  • Diarrhea, vomiting, or abdominal pain; or
  • New onset of severe headache, especially with a fever

If a student begins to experience any of these symptoms in a way that is not typical, we encourage you to contact your physician. If a student is lab-confirmed to have COVID-19 to please notify our school by contacting the front office at 713-842-5600. We appreciate your continued support as we work together to ensure the safety of our school community. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our front office team.

If your student is absent please remember to send an excuse note or documentation with your child when they return. You can also email an absent excuse note to Ms. Rocha at candy.rocha@yesrep.org.
