Parent & Family Engagement Policy 25-26

Hello Families,

Please take a moment to review our 25/26 Parent and Family Engagement Campus Policy & School–Parent Compact.
In this document, you will find important information about:

  • How the school uses Title I funds

  • Ways parents can be involved in their child’s education

  • Academic programs and supports available

  • The School–Parent Compact and family engagement policy

This resource is designed to strengthen the home–school connection and ensure families have a voice in supporting student success.

The full policy is attached for your review. Paper copies will also be available at the front office at your request.

Student Health & Wellness

Dear YES Prep Hobby families,

Lately our nurse is seeing more students with headaches and stomachaches, and many share they haven’t eaten or had much water. To help every student feel well and fully engage in class, please partner with us:

  • Eat consistently: Breakfast before school and lunch every day. If your child doesn’t eat school lunch, please pack a lunch.
  • Healthy fuel on hand: Send 2–3 healthy snacks (e.g., fruit, yogurt, cheese sticks, granola bars, nuts/seeds) for steady energy.
  • Hydration matters: Students may carry water bottles on campus and have access to refill stations throughout the day—please send a refillable bottle daily.
  • Share needs: Let us know about any allergies or dietary needs so we can support your student.

If accessing meals is a challenge, please contact the front office or our Student Support Counselor so we can connect you with resources. Thank you for partnering with us to keep students healthy, focused, and ready to learn.

High School Parent Nights

We’re excited to host our Parent Nights on Thursday, September 4 (Middle School) and Thursday, September 11 (High School) from 5:00–7:00 PM on campus. Meet teachers, review grade-level expectations, and hear from student leaders. We can’t wait to see you!

DeansList – Verification Code Email

Families should have received an updated DeansList verification code by email. This code lets you view behavior points, referrals, and hall passes. If you did not receive the email or need help, please contact the Front Office for support.

New Student Orientation – 9/12

We will host a New Student Orientation on Friday, September 12, designed to support students who are new to YES Prep Hobby. We’ll share campus culture systems, key contacts, and success tips. More details to follow—please plan to attend!

Morning Aspire Program (Early Arrival)

Our Morning Aspire program is available for early-arrival students beginning at 7:15 AM each school day. For information or to enroll, please reach out to Ms. Sloan or Mr. Brumfield.

Thank you for your continued partnership—go Aviators!

Being on time protects learning and helps our mornings run smoothly. Students must be in class by 8:30 AM.

If a student arrives after 8:30 AM:

  • They are marked tardy and must check in for a pass.
  • A DeansList demerit is recorded for the late arrival.
  • Three (3) demerits = a detention assigned per campus policy.

Why this matters: Consistent, on-time arrival builds strong habits and keeps instruction moving for everyone.

Helpful options & tips:

  • Morning Aspire opens at 7:15 AM for early drop-off.
Questions? Contact Ms. Sloan or Mr. Brumfield.
  • Plan a small buffer (10 minutes) for traffic, parking, and walking to class.
  • If you anticipate a delay, please call the Front Office.

Thank you for partnering with us to build punctuality and protect learning time.
