The Final Countdown to Common Assessments
We are in the final days of instruction before the second round of Common Assessments. All Aviators will engage in STAAR/AP-like exams for all CA-tested courses (ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, World Languages) the week of February 23rd - February 27th. Every exam is worth 10% of an Aviator's semester average in each course tested.

How can you help?
- Make sure your Aviator is here every day leading up to CAs and every day of CA week.
- Remind your Aviator to complete their homework every night, whether that's AP reading, IXL practice, Khan Academy skills, or reading for the next day's lesson.
- Be sure your Aviator is locked in and ready to engage in all work leading up to CAs. Every day of practice makes a difference!
Reminders for CA Days:
- All phones/smart watches must be turned in at the start of testing and will be returned at the end of the testing day.
- No early leave on testing days.
- All students must be on time and ready to give 100% on their exams

Aviator Families, we have started the final half of the 2025-2026 school year! We are excited to see our Aviators in class everyday. Our campus ADA goal for this quarter is 94% which means we need our students be present unless excused with a doctor note or other written documentation. Please note that students with 9 or more unexcused absences are subject to attendance recovery which incurs a $50 fee and Saturday attendance. Attendance recovery could potentially impact promotion and result in grade retention.
Please ensure your Aviator is coming to school every day and if you have any doctor's notes or documentation to submit for your student(s) absences, please submit directly to our operations coordinator Ms. Castilleja at Rosa.Castilleja@yesprep.org.
Students who are absent 9 or more times (unexcused) in a semester owe attendance recovery to make up seat time. This is a state requirement in order to allow students to earn credit for a course (high school) or be promoted to the next grade (middle school). Attendance Recovery costs $50 and takes place on Saturdays. Students who have 9 or more absences from last semester are required to make up the hours this spring. Please ensure that your student is present every possible day, or brings a doctors note when possible to excuse absences. Students with excessive absences in the spring will owe hours in the summer
