It's Time for Common Assessments!

All Aviators will engage in their Spring Common Assessments next week. CAs are worth 10% of your Aviators' overall semester average. The grades for CAs are make or break for many Aviators and we want to ensure that they take the test as seriously as STAAR or AP. We'll use data collected from CAs to update tutorial rosters and plan interventions for the final Quarter leading up to STAAR and AP!
How can you help? Be sure your Aviator is present and on time. See below for CA reminders!

Spanish CBE Testing - 8th Grade Aviators
All 8th grade students will take the Spanish Credit by Exam (CBE) on Wednesday, February 25th.
🎯 Why is this important?
Students take this exam to ensure they are placed in the right language course when they enter high school. This helps us match students to the level that best supports their learning and growth.
💪 Every student must try their best.
Regardless of how much Spanish your child believes they know, it is important that they give full effort on this exam. Even students who are unsure of their proficiency may earn high school credit.
🚀 What happens if a student tests out of Spanish?
Students who earn Spanish credit will open up space in their high school schedule for
- 📚 AP Spanish courses
- 🎓 Additional AP courses
- 💼 Career & Technical Education (CTE) pathways
- 🌟 Advanced electives
This exam can create more flexibility and advanced academic opportunities throughout high school.
📌 How families can help:
- Ensure your child gets a good night’s sleep
- Encourage them to eat breakfast
- Remind them to try their very best
Thank you for partnering with us to ensure every student is prepared for success in high school and beyond! If you have questions, please message Caroline Giese, Director of Academics on Parent Square or email Caroline.Giese@yesprep.org.

Common Assessment Week
Families, we are conducting district-wide common assessments next week. Campus will be closed to all visitors and early checkouts will not be permitted. We request any doctor appointments be rescheduled. Please plan accordingly.

Field Trips & Culture Days
We are looking forward to celebrating students hard work on Spring Common Assessments with Field Trips or Culture Days on Friday, March 6th. Students must meet behavioral, academic, and attendance metrics in order to be eligible for this event.
Please look for updates for your Grade Level Chair on these trips, and reach out with any questions. Any student going on a field trip must submit their permission slip and money before Thursday, February 26th
