Senior Signing Day (8th & 9th:

We are excited to continue the YES Prep tradition of supporting our graduating seniors as they announce the college they will be attending! Our 8^th & 9^th grade Aviators will travel to NRG Stadium on May 18^th to cheer on seniors from across the district. Students who have not completed a permission slip through Skyward have been given a paper permission slip by the front office to return before Monday, May 15^th. Students who do not turn in a permission slip will not be able to attend. All 8^th and 9^th graders attending are expected to wear a Hobby Spirit Shirt (provided by the school on Thursday morning) and dress code appropriate pants (no athletic pants/crocs/slides, all pants should be appropriate length and free of rips and tears).

6^th & 7^th grade:

Our 6^th and 7^th grade Aviators will also be participating in college-focused activities on campus next Thursday and watching the Senior Signing Day presentation virtually.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

End of Year Field Trips:

We are excited to celebrate the end of the school year with field trip opportunities for students! Below is the price for each trip. Permission slips have been passed out to students, and are due (with the fee) to their Grade Level Chair by Friday, May 19^th. All students who met behavior expectations for April and May are eligible to attend. We will not be accepting money or permission slips after Friday, May 19^th. Attendance Matters

As end of year gets closer, it's important for your Aviator to be present every day. Every minute counts when it comes to our Aviators growing and ensuring they achieve their fullest potential. If you student is present every day from Monday, May 8th to Monday, May 22nd they will be invited to a fun block party! Parents are also welcomed! Invitations will be passed out Friday, May 19th. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Safe, Inclusive, Joyful- Student IDs 

This year is ending but our objective to ensure we a creating and maintaining a safe inclusive and joyful school does not! Please speak with your Aviator about ensuring they are wearing their ID's and lanyards at all times. All students are checked for IDs and lanyards when they enter the building. Students who forget their IDs are able to get a temporary one at the 300 doors and earn a demerit. Any student who is not wearing an idea anytime after homeroom will earn an automatic detention.   

 

Student Device & ID Return 

Families, please be prepared to return your student laptops, chargers and IDs on May 25th and May 26th. Devices should have all stickers or external items removed prior to return. Students who are attending summer programming will keep their devices until the end of June. 

 

Senior Signing Day

Senior Signing Day Permission Slips were due to campus on 5/10 through Skyward for all 8th and 9th grade students. If you did not submit an electronic permission slip for your student through Skyward, please be on the lookout for a paper copy coming home this week. Please turn these in to the front office ASAP. 

Senior Signing Day will take place on May 18th at NRG. 

 

EOY Map Testing

Next Tuesday, we’ll closed out the 22-23 Testing Season with End-of-Year MAP Growth Testing. MAP Testing results directly impact what classes our Aviators take (electives/interventions/advanced Math) and can also be used to help with promotional committee decisions. Ensure Aviators are present, on time, and ready to test with a charged laptop on Tuesday, May 16th!

Tell us about your experience! Here at YES Prep, we want to thank you for choosing us and we value our families. To help us improve the quality of the services we provide to our families. The Survey will be available from Thursday, May 11 to Sunday May, 14. It will take less than a minute. In this survey, you will be asked about decisions for the coming year.  

 

Summer

Summer Accelerated Learning- As we prepare to kick off Summer 2023, 9th graders who were selected will be required to attend our YES Prep Hobby Summer Accelerated Learning Program. This program begins Monday, June 5th, 2023 and runs through Friday, June 23, 2023 (no programming on June 19th, 2023 for Juneteenth Observance). The full program runs from 8:30a to 3:30p daily and transportation will be provided. 2023-2024 LOTTERY RESULTS

If you submitted an application for a new student for the 23-24 school year, you should have received communication regarding the status of your application by now.

If you receive a seat, you will have until Friday March 10th to accept or decline the offer. If you did not receive a seat, your application will be put on the waitlist until a seat becomes available.
