New Traffic Pattern Monday 10/2-Beginning with Dismissal
Aviator families,
As you know, our district leaders over safety, traffic, and construction, have been collaborating along with a traffic engineer to identify the best pattern for our arrival and dismissal, as we welcome Hobby Elementary and grow our campus. Construction for Hobby elementary is set to begin in October. You may have already seen some construction barriers come up and on Monday 10/2 the rest of the fences will be installed. Construction will impact our morning arrival and afternoon dismissal pattern. We will start this new pattern on Monday, October 2nd, beginning with dismissal. Our arrival on October 2nd will not change. The new arrival pattern will begin on Tuesday, October 3rd.
Arrival Changes:
- The carpool lane to enter the campus will now shift to the back of campus, through gate #3 which faces Hansen.
- Two lanes of vehicles will now enter gate 3, loop through the parking lot and drop off outside of the gym.
- Cars will exit gate 2, which faces Tallyho.
- Busses will also enter gate 3 but drop off students by the awning at the end of the building.
Dismissal changes:
- The carpool lane to enter the campus will now shift to the back of campus, through gate #3 which faces Hansen.
- Two lanes of vehicles will now enter gate 3, loop through the parking lot and pick up outside of the gym.
- Middle school students will be picked up in the left lane.
- High school students will be picked up in the right lane.
- Cars will exit gate 2, which faces Tallyho.
- Busses will also enter gate 2, loop through the parking lot and pick up students on the other side of the carpool lanes.
In order to ensure these changes are seamless and that our students remain our #1 safety priority we are implementing additional safety measures.
1. Additional safety cones will be placed in the parking lot to divide the 2 lanes of traffic.
2. Several signs will be set up along the carpool lanes to direct traffic.
3. Additional staff will be present to assist traffic in the morning and afternoon.
4. Increased staff presence during the first several days to support the transition.
5. Our police officer will be stationed at gate #3 (facing Hansen) to assist traffic to move into 2 lanes.
As a reminder, please:
- Please do not arrive to campus 15-30 minutes early for arrival and dismissal and block traffic.
- Follow directions from leaders/officials who are directing traffic.
- Drive slowly and carefully, and refrain from cutting off cars in the lines or parking lot.
- Refrain from blocking entries and exits for area businesses or for the campus
- Refrain from dropping your student off or picking up your student on the corner. This is not safe for your student, you, or for cars moving through the area. P
- Please be sure to drop your students and pick-up your students inside the gates and the designated areas.
- Refrain from using your cell phone and remain attentive to traffic.
- Refrain from dropping your student off on campus prior to 8:05, unless they are a part of morning ASPIRE.
- IF your student is being dropped off for morning Aspire, DO NOT use the entrance gate as an exit. This is a safety hazard for you and our campus staff who are entering the gates.
We appreciate your flexibility and patience as we navigate our new traffic pattern with the addition of our elementary campus.
Summative Assessments are in full swing, Aviator Families! By the end of next week, 10/6, all Aviators should have a Summative Assessment grade for every core class (Science-Math-ELA-Social Studies). Please reach out to your teacher via email if your Aviator will be absent on the day of a given exam to discuss makeup options. See below for next week's classes that will be administering exams!

Substance Abuse Meeting:
Thank you to all families who attended our Information on Substance Abuse and Vaping. With the recent passing of House Bill 114, any possession, use, or distribution of substances on a school campus will result in an automatic DAEP placement. If you have any questions about this policy, please reach out to Ms. Peck. If you have any concerns about your student using or experimenting with Substances, you can reach out to our Student Support Counselors by completing a SAF
