Fall Common Assessments are here!

Common Assessments Season kicks off THIS week at Hobby on November 11^th! All Aviators will engage in at least 4 Common Assessments to practice for STAAR with exams that are 5% of the overall Semester Average for each Aviator. This is the time for Aviators to show what they have learned through purposeful practice in class, Culture Block tutorials, and after-school tutorials. All Aviators will take assessments aligned to STAAR and AP exams so we can see where they are growing and where they still need support. Help us have a smooth testing season by setting your Aviator up for success every day over the next week.

 

It is imperative that all Aviators are here and present by 8:30 AM every day of testing. Please ensure your Aviator brings their charged laptop with the charger daily. Students are encouraged to leave phones and smart watches at home, as they will be collected if brought to school and will not be returned until end of day. No student will be able to be signed out early on testing days. If your student is sick or unable to attend school, the front office must be notified as soon as possible.

Turkey Raffle:

Families, we are excited to host our third annual turkey raffle at Hobby! Students who are present every day from Monday 11/11 - Thursday 11/21 will be entered into a raffle for a Thanksgiving turkey! There will be 1 winner per grade level announced on Friday, 11/22. Students must be present at lunch to win their turkey.

 

Thanksgiving Family Luncheon

Aviators Families, we are excited to invite parents to join their students for a Thanksgiving meal on November 14th in the cafeteria! To ensure we have enough meals for everyone, please note the cutoff date to participate is November 8th, 2024.

Important Information:

• Cash and credit/debit card payments will not be accepted at the cafeteria.
• Parents must add funds to their students’ SchoolCafe account to pay for parents' meals at the cafeteria.

If you would like to eat with your student but bring outside food, you are welcome to on 11/14. Parents can only provide food for their individual student and must be present to eat with them.

6^th & 7^th grade lunch: 10:45 AM – 11:15 AM

8^th & 9^th grade lunch: 11:45 AM – 12:15 PM

10^th & 11^th grade lunch: 12:20 PM – 12:50 PM

 

Culture Day 11/22:

We are looking for family volunteers to support with our culture day on November 22^nd during lunch. We will have concessions and opportunities for students to purchase pizza lunch on this day. If you are available to help with this, please reach out to Ms. Peck at the information below
