HERO:
We are working to ensure that students are receiving timely feedback regarding their behavior in class. As a reminder to families, students receive demerits for in class, or small misbehaviors, as redirections. Students receive a demerit for not meeting the expectations below:
-
Engaged in learning: students are on time to class, focused, and prepared to learn
-
Adheres to safety protocols: students follow our dress code, wear an ID at all times on campus, and have a hall pass in the hallway
-
Practice unharmful behaviors: students are kind to others in their language and actions
Students receive a lunch detention every time they receive the 3rd demerit for the same behavior. Students have time set aside to check their HERO account each week, which is where this information is located. Families can set up an account to track their students' behaviors by following the steps below:
-
Click “parent”
-
Create an account
-
Add a student using your students ID number and birthday.
-
If you are having trouble adding your student, you can email jaclyn.peck@yesprep.org for support.
Masks for Staff and Students
Given the continued rise in confirmed cases, it is now our expectation that all students and staff wear masks. When masks are worn consistently and correctly, they not only protect you but others as well. In general, people do not need to wear masks when outdoors. People should wear a mask in crowded outdoor settings or during activities that involve sustained close contact with other people or if they or someone in their household is immunocompromised.
Exception(s):
- A student who cannot wear a mask, or cannot safely wear a mask, because of a disability as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) (42 U.S.C. 12101 et seq.). Please reach out to our Special Populations team if you require assistance.
- A student is not expected to wear a mask while eating or drinking but should maintain physical distance as possible. The mask should be stored in a safe, clean location and should be worn immediately thereafter.
