Dress Code:

We are excited to have cooler weather approaching Houston! As we move in to fall months, please make sure your student is still meeting our dress code expectations each day. Students should not wear sweatpants or athletic pants of any kind to school. Clothing should also be free of rips or tears and students not meeting our dress code expectations will receive communication from our Dean of Students on consequences and next steps.  If you have questions about the dress code policy, please reach out to Ms. Francis at Durantaniq.Francis@yesprep.org  If you need support in finding clothes that meet our dress code policy, please complete a SAF so our Student Support Counselor, Ms. Perez, can assist.

Boo-grams:

Our Aviator Student Council is excited to host a fundraiser to raise money for school culture by selling “Boo-grams”. Boo-grams are $2 bags of candy that can be purchased throughout lunch next week (Monday, October 24th– Thursday, October 27^th) for themselves or a friend. Please note that students should not share candy with friends throughout the day any day, specifically Monday, October 31^st. Boo-grams will be delivered by Student Council members at the end of the day on the 31^st. Please reach out to Ms. Hines if you have any questions!

Item Drop off:

If you wish to bring your Aviator food for them to consume during lunch time, it must be dropped off at the Front office no Later than 9:00am. Food must be brought by the parent/ Guardian. Any food delivered by Door Dash & Uber Eats will be held in the Front office until the end of day. As a reminder, All students receive Free Breakfast & Lunch.

Unified Tutorials 

Afterschool Unified Tutorials for selected 8th Graders has launched from 4:00pm-5:30pm

Monday: Math 8 Tutorials (selected students)

Tuesday: Reading 8 Tutorials (selected students) 

Wednesday: Math 8 & Reading 8 Tutorials (selected students)

Community Partner Visit :

Crime Stoppers of Houston will be visiting YES Prep Hobby on Friday, October 28th, during advisory to present to students on Bullying Prevention. This presentation covers different types of bullying, the Internet’s effects, David’s Law, and reporting tools. Students will learn how to utilize campus resources and understand the importance of being an upstander versus a bystander.
