Turkey Raffle:

Raffle began on Thursday, November 10th. each Aviator who is present daily at school will be entered in the raffle. We encourage all Aviators to participate on winning a turkey for your family. Winners will be announced on 11.18 during lunch time.

Aviators' attendance in school is important we want to make sure our Aviators are here and learning every day possible.

Dress Code:

We are excited to have cooler weather approaching Houston! As we move in to fall months, please make sure your student is still meeting our dress code expectations each day. Students should not wear sweatpants or athletic pants of any kind to school. Clothing should also be free of rips or tears and students not meeting our dress code expectations will receive communication from our Dean of Students on consequences and next steps.  If you have questions about the dress code policy, please reach out to Ms. Francis at Durantaniq.Francis@yesprep.org  If you need support in finding clothes that meet our dress code policy, please complete a SAF so our Student Support Counselor, Ms. Perez, can assist.

Daily Attendance

Daily attendance is critical for student learning and socialization. Research shows that students who are chronically absent- missing 10% or more of school days due to absence for any reason (excused, unexcused, suspensions) - can lead to difficulty learning to read by the 3rd grade, achieving academically in middle school, and graduating from high school. We know that you care deeply about your child’s academic and social well-being and the best place for them to learn and grow is at school. Every day your child is absent, they fall behind in their classes and it requires work to catch up. They also miss out on all the opportunities to enjoy school with their peers and their teachers.
